So you're essentially paying for the clean title, vin and trim tag. Maybe there is still some one year parts still on it, but probably not many.

And the only reason to have title, vin, and trim tag would be to convert a stolen car. I see a few hundred dollars in parts, but not 9k worth.

Wouldn't shock me if he gets it. I've seen worse cars with higher asking prices.

It's a junk parts car and he states just body and frame so he's taking all the parts off to sell.

And the body is beat to stool and the frame is bent.

So 9k buys you the title/vin and trim tag.

Could you find a donor body and frame and build a "legit" SWC fuelie?

What would stop anyone from doing that, not just with that car?

Much ado over nothing.

Its free enterprise - if you don't want it then don't buy it....
I don't know why people even think twice about it...

No, not a fuelie SWC. But a NOM roadster, yes. The only way to do that without going broke is if you have been in the hobby a long time and have an assload of spare parts lying around.
