Dont do what Ive been doing. That is, walk by the 65 , polish it, stare at it, hug it, whatever. Then...Put the cover back on it. Ive had clutch freeze up problems, gunked up carbs, nasty a$$ aged gas. Now that ive fixed all that, the boss and I fired the ol girl up and went on a 100 mile drive. I Forgot how much people freak over a BB coupe with sidepipes rattling their car windows. Fun as hell. We will be driving more now that I remember why i even have the damn thing. Life is too short. If it gets bugs on it and dirty, big deal.

Driving them is where the fun is I like to polish too but then I drive them. I got the 61 and the 65 out today. It's going to rain tomorrow so I got my fix in today
We drove over to Ny. today for the Adirondack Nationals in Lake George. Just rolled 5K miles since May, about 1K miles a month. How you doin'?
Great show, great weather. I will add photos in another post.
Thanks.
Yep, I truly believe that more damage occurs from NOT driving them than the normal wear and tear of regular use. While I love looking at my car I think that I love driving it just as much if not more. In fact, I'll need to contact my new insurance company soon (only changed policies in May) to opt up from my current 3000 mile per year limit to the 6000 and, even that will be a tight squeeze.

I had to go up from the 3K mile limit before we left for Carlisle. I upped it to 5K. If I want to drive it any more, I will have to up the mileage again! It cost me $20.00 to add the 2K miles. It may not be the best looking C2 out there, but it gets driven. Not shown.

Drive it and enjoy it! I use car shows as destinations for my weekend cruises. It makes the show staff crazy when I tell them that I'm a spectator and not a participant. This way I have a place to drive my Vette without having to spend an entire day getting the car ready and sitting on a folding chair in a parking lot. I can polish the car and stare at it during the week.

That's what I do. Plus it saves money on registration fees
That's what I do too. I have a room full of trophies and more in storage...I'm way over that part of the hobby.... Especially after the day some amateur judge insisted that my '61 could not possibly have had factory dual quads because they weren't offered....
Never fell into the show trap, and never will. Not my thing. I like road trips. I'll attend a cars show as a destination to go to, have a great time, and leave when I want. (Which is waaay before the day is shot). Best part is, most of the time, I get to park for free or get to drive onto the grounds and park in the show, again, without entering, simply because I am in a classic car. I walk around, enjoy the sights, and drive off....on my own schedule....
