Just curious, what is the exact weight with options going to be used for? Do you need it with without coolant, gas, and oil? With or without passenger and driver? Spare? Jack?
I was curious too. It sounds like since GM picked numbers out of a hat for horsepower, torque and weight, If can do the same thing. So, here goes, my car weighs 3466 and 3/8, it has 501 and 2/3 horsepower and 637 and 7/8 torque. If GM can do it why can't I? LOL!!!
Ralph.
See attached actual weight of my all original 65 Corvette Coupe, real 300 hp, Powerglide, radio, power steering, power antenna, power windows, Goldwood Yellow, vinyl interior etc.
Half tank of gas (87 octane), 5 quarts of CJ4 oil from Walmart, small spin on filter, no fluid in windshield washer and regular air (not pure nitrogen), jack and no spare tire. About 7.6 pounds of free stuff I got at Goodguys at Indy.
Please note that the right rear is a little heaver then the left due to my cooler, which offsets the lack of a spare tire.

Reason: add info
Not a perfect example...but when I first got my car it had an iron head small block in it with headers, 4 speed and I had added Torque Thrust wheels with 255/60's and 215/65's. Empty spare tub. It weighed 3020 with a 1/2 tank of gas.
Over the years it's gained weight. Aftermarket iron 555", scattershield, 5 speed race trans, 3.5" exhaust, Dana 60 IRS with heavy halfshafts, 275/60's on rear, elaborate fuel system, 6 point rollbar (only 26 lbs!) etc. Last time I weighed it (before adding power steering and twin turbos) it weighed 3540 with half tank of gas.
