Just an FYI, The mid year's seat belts have cables that bolt between the support bracket under the floor to the chassis so you have more strength
than just fiberglass.

I had the driver side door latch break/ware out. I attempted to take the lazy way out and buy another until I came to the realization that the driver side latch is pretty hard to find. so, I repaired/refurbished my broken one. I popped the rivets out, did some welding, did a little grinding, a little work with the file and low and behold, it works like new. The latch probably hadn’t been greased in 50 years, bone dry and worn out.
Anything can be repaired if you put your mind to it.
Continuing the Progress on my ‘54, not much left to do just a few things I passed over to get er drivable.
My Wonderbar Radio showed up at the door this morning, refurbished. AM/FM Stereo, 4 speaker, plus auxiliary inputs for XM, MP3, etc and kept the looks and functions. Cruising with tunes this year...

When you’re running dual fours, you need hood clearance. Yep I modified the hood on my ‘54. It’s a matter of opinion but I think after a couple weeks of working on the hood it turned out good. Better then cutting a hole and adding a scoop.
