Tire Size 205 70 r15
Hi Guys,
Wanted to get some opinions on tires size. I did search all the previous posts but didn't find anything relating to my question. I am looking at a set of used redlines size 205 70 r15, I believe my car (67 convertible) should have 205 75 r15. According to diamond back tires there is a 1.25" difference between the two sizes. Would the 205 70 r 15 look to small? Would you stay away from the smaller size? Interested to hear what you all have to say. Thank you in advance for all of your help.

Turn 12!
I have the following on my car now. 65' L76
Front: 205/70/15
Rear: 215/70/15
I just ordered Diamondback II's in 205/75/15 (5/8'' white wall) on all 4-corners because I wanted to keep the stock\factory look (in a radial) and the 215's that I have on the rear look too fat.

A 70 series tire is wider and shorter than a 75 series tire. Better for handling and better acceleration from a light. However, I am a fan of a car being able to cruise, and with most 'vette rear end ratios (unless you have a 3.08) you'd be hurting your highway abilities with the shorter tire. Personally, I like the 75 series here.

They do to me. I had blackwall 205-70 and replaced with 205-75 redlines and really like the difference. Here's the before and after:
Click on the pictures to get the ratio correct, they look oval if you don't. The 75's also made my speedometer right on.
