I owned a 64 Black Coupe in the early 70s.I never documented the buyer and don't even have the VIN number. Would really like to find it if possible. Black coupe / silver interior/ had 6 tail lights/ small rear fender flairs.Somewhat unique at the time and hoping someone had seen it. Iowa
THANKS To All !!

Sounds beautiful. I wish you luck! If you have an old timer insurance agent maybe you can find the VIN. If you have the VIN you can at least search if the car is registered (though you won't get any owners name). Someone with a better memory than me can chime in as to where that site is.

That would be truly amazing, if you knew this car, based on the little info he gave. Please keep us posted, as this could be an incredible find; kind of like Sherlock Holmes finding out who did it based on only a single, insignificant clue. I'm serious. This is fascinating to me.
Without a vin, good luck! Any unique flaws or markings anywhere on the car?
Had a mysterious little washer get down the carb and pepper the top of a piston , but not obvious unless torn down. Had cherry bomb mufflers when I sold it.
Thanks
I was hoping you would say it was fuel injected with no radio. A friend of mine had one several years ago that had flares and 6 tail lights, but it was a no radio with FI. Sorry. Good luck with your search. That is a rare and beautiful color combination.
On a '64 with silver interior, would the dash also be silver, like the inside door vinyl and carpet? My Shriner had silver seats and doors, but RED dash pads and floor carpeting, apparently when you special-ordered a dozen identical convertibles every year, you could get crazy combinations and substitutions!
John Z?
(Didn't care for the red dash and carpet, had it all dyed black to better match with the silver vinyl IMO)
Nope - a '64 with a silver interior would get a black dash panel.
Thanks, John! Another Shriner oddity, no-radio cars like mine came WITH ignition shielding. I always thought it came on ALL C2s to keep from messing up the reception in the Mustang beside you.
But no, non-radio Shriners got shielding because the drivers used two-way radios during their half-time drills and parades.

Those are easy changes to make for the right person.
It is probably NOT the same car, but today there are L88's and BB's cars that didn't leave St Louis that way. But without a VIN or Trim Tag info no one can really be sure anymore.

As Powershift says, those changes COULD be made along the way. Maybe you could ask your friend if he has any reason to think the car was in Iowa at some time in its life. It's a long shot but it does not hurt to inquire.
Thanks to all for the thoughts on my Lost 64 . I was hoping the added tail lights on a black 64 with silver interior would really be noticed. ( unless of course the car was restored back to original)
