Default Replacing Fuel Lines

Ok, I know I've asked about the frame rail fuel line, but here's the situation. On this '66 at this point the engine, transmission, front suspension, steering box and so on are all out of the car.

I've had the car up on the lift repeatedly while doing other work and I keep looking over the fuel line situation every time. I've looked at other alternatives to a factory line like running and bending it my own way with a swedge connection somewhere in the middle using nickel/copper based tubing, but so far I haven't come up with a decent idea.

I guess my question is, if I decide to lift the body up 10 inches or so, what do I need to know to avoid body damage and other than body mounts and bumper brackets what other crap am I gonna run into? Keep in mind, the only drivetrain or suspension on the car right now is the rear end. Is this something I can do fairly easily or what?

Lastly on another subject, once the engine and transmission are back in I plan on dropping the entire rear suspension and rear as an assembly for a rebuild and I am curious if the lack of weight out back will cause the car to be nose heavy on a twin post lift.

Other then bumper brackets and body mounts you have to unbolt the seat belt cables, M/C lines, steering column, and ground wires. If you lift the body up by the rocker channels at the ends you will need some ballest weight in the rear

Yeah, I see the seat belt cables. Master cylinder lines are off and steering box is out. What do you suggest for ballast weight and what's the best way to pick it up by the rocker channels, a special sling and engine hoist?

Any dead weight will do. Old cylinder heads, bags of concrete, bags of rocks etc. just put a 4x4 block of wood inside the bird cage rocker channel and place the lift pads on them Or if you feel up to it just place the lift pads on the outer most part of the bird cage rocker

Ok, I guess the 4X4 should run the length of the rocker channel? I suppose I could just go ahead and raise the body up high and get the frame cleaned up and painted while I'm at it. So, how much ballast weight are you talking about, a couple hundred pounds or what?

I appreciate the information

You only need the block of wood the length of the the lift pad. The weight I would say around 200-300 pounds Place it on the floor where your seats would be

Ok, no big deal. I guess the only other thing to remove off the top of my head would be e-brake connection

Go to the "Corvette Repair, Inc." website and it's in the "Tech Tips" section.

I checked out the tech tips section. I already have most of this covered so I think it's a go.
