Removed my 66 coupe from the back of the garage today in preparation for the drags tomorrow and found a bunch of little "dots" all over the car. As far as I can determine they are from bugs "relieving" themselves on the car. Call me crazy, but that's got to be what they are... Anybody else have a problem with bug dumps on their paint?
I have a question for you..... do you use a swamp cooler in your garage? I did til I found little pits in the car from the hard water used by the cooler. Just a thought, because that's what I thought at first too til I figured it out. Later...vetzs
certain trees spew out fine drops of what must be sap. there are a few of these trees at my work, and at different times of the year they cover a car will thousands of tiny dots. did u park under a tree in the driveway by any chance?
Absolutely no trees involved here. Car has been in the garage (back of the garage to boot). I don't even have any trees close to my garage... I can only assume these are real bug dumps...
Do you know that a fly will leave a small black dot. I was finishing up the construction of a custom home out in farmdom and the house had fly crap all over everything including the walls. :mad
I have the same thing, small little white dots of bug do-do. The bugs really like my car. I roll the windows up after each use so they will not move in. In June I left the window down and while driving to work I lowered the visor to find a HUGE moth sitting there, I compleetly fliped out at a stop light and shewed it out the window. The people around me at the light were looking at me like I was escaped from the looney bin.

Laughing my but off on this one, I have done the same thing, looks like you are a lunatic swatting in the air. the other one I discovered the other day is that it is really hard to adjust yourself ( if you know what I mean guys) in a convertible. Man did I get busted at a stop light with my hand up my shorts.
I have to imagine that bugs do relieve themselves, it only makes sense if you think about it, food in food out. Funny post.
OK.....using my 30+ year old college degrees as a biologist........
Bugs DO crap. What you see IS fly shinola. If you have a good wax job, it should come off and not cause any harm. Put up some fly strips, or pull the old girl out of the garage and fumigate it.
As for flys adjusting themselves at stoplights......well...hmmmm...mmmm. They probably just adjust their flys occasionally.......... :p:
I haven't seen it as much in the garage as in the boathouse at the lake. The constant overpopulation of Mayflies supports a hearty overpopulation of spiders. It's absolutely amazing the mess spiders make on anything under them. In a week's time the boats look just like somebody's been over them with a pepper shaker. Everybody around there fights the same problem and nobody's found a suitable cure. One guy has fogged his several times, but they're right back. One exterminator sprayed and said it'd help for several months, but it didn't. If anybody's found a cure I'd like to hear it.
Cockroaches (Palmetto bugs for you Florida folk) are notorius for leaving spots too. My latest "problem" here in Texas is Gecko doo. For a small creature they leave a large "trail". Looks more like a "ratchet" ( a little bit bigger than a mouse's). So far they have not taken on the car just the garage wall, etc. Brings a whole new meaing to the phrase "scat" doesn't it?
Like somebody above said, the insect "honeydew" should wash off but I wouldn't let it lie around long.
