Need advice on replacement fuel pump
I need to replace the fuel pump on my 63 300 hp roadster. The car is a every day driver. I would like to find one that would fit with a minimum of hassle It does not have to be n.c.r.s. perfect. n.p.a . would be fine any recommendations ? Thanks in advance Western Mass

There has been much discussion about this on the forum. Failures and successes with various brands. Use the search function and you'll have more information than you'll ever need but be warned, you could be more confused as to what brand to buy. I have an Airtex. Dave

If you have the original AC modular fuel pump why no overhaul it with new parts and re-install. It's your best option..

I just went with the AC Delco 40018 for under $50 at many parts houses. Has an OEM style with the screws around the diaphragm cover. Application say FI 365HP, but the reading on this site and others said good for my 340HP application, and I would think for your 300HP as well. Apparently FI systems had a secondary fuel pump to step up the pressure. In /out ports line up well to the original application.
I haven't started my engine up yet so I'm hoping my information was correct.

If your original tank-to-pump & pump-to-filter hard lines are in place & have not been subjected to Bubba, all you need is a "4657" pump. This numbering convention refers to the inlet and outlet fitting size and the clocking of the I and O ports (approx 90* apart on this pump).
GM 6415616 is a '4657' style pump still readily available for a modest price -- check GM Parts Direct. It won't have the cast "AC" logos & other small details like the OEM stuff from ancient times. Note the '4657' stamped on the mounting flange, 2nd pic, below. A 40018 pump will not work, as I/O clocking is 180* apart.See link, below for part number. Pics are of one I have on hand in stash of stuff.
