Default convertible hard top date codes??

Are the date codes different than the windshield and side glass?
What build date is f4?
The f and 4 are not in line, f is slightly higher.

Even if you have a complete readable stamp, the date code format and the month and year location changed over the years. Just a f (lower case?) and 4 don't add up with any of the known date coding. A '64 HT window used two numbers "MM" and two number "YY" on the same line as AS4.

What year is your car? Post a pic of what you have so we can see the stamp and location of letters and numbers.

According to the NCRS - "The window is dated with a dual alpha code corresponding with the build date of the car, showing the year below/left of the logo (often obscured by the weatherstrip), and the month above/right of the logo."
On my 65, the "E" indicates 1965 and the "B" indicates February.
Your "F" most likely indicates June. Is there anything below/left of the logo that indicates the year?

Here's my 65 -

My early '64 (built September '63) hardtop has the standard month/year format, 7. 63.

You still didn’t give the year of your car? There were three different formats for midyear date codes.

Your picture is not close enough or high enough resolution to read the stamp. I can tell from the format that it’s not a ’63-’64. The upper right character “F” would indicate the year (’66) if it’s a ’66-’67 top, and would be the month (June) if it’s a ’65 top. The “4” you mention in your original post is part of the AS4 marking, not part of the date code.

7691 - Unreadable date stamps are not uncommon, but look closely in the area circled in red for even a partial letter. It's the missing link in your window date code. Again, depending on the year, the location of month and year letters changed.

My vett is a 1967, built in November of 66
Just purchased new back plex glass from Auto City Glass.
Wanted to put correct code on new glass
It looks all other numbers have been worn off.
Thanks for your help.

I don’t see anything in the lower left in your picture either – like I said, not uncommon.

A ’67 top with a ’66 build date, would have an “F” in the upper right ('66) like you have. A letter in the lower left would signify the month per the chart below. A month or two before the car build date would be typical.

I have also seen pictures of ’67 hardtops with ink date stamps on the underside of the shell (under the headliner) but don’t know how consistent the practice was.
