Default Scuttle vent

Not sure if this is the same term in the US

But the air intake vents in front of the screen, where does the water drain off to and could it be possible that the water from here could enter the car

Around the air conditioning eyeball vents either within or around nearby (I can't tell) water is dripping

Usually called a cowl vent here. They drain down a channel inside the body on each side. You can use a garden hose to see where the flow exits.

They shouldn't fill up (clogged up) or leak into the interior (not sealed)..

YES....it could if leaves and debris plugs the 'weep' holes at bottom of side panel...if the weep holes get plugged then the water enters the car from the inside vents...

You'll have to look from the bottom outside of frame its an elongated slot/hole...

Somebody with a description of location to unplug will chime in...

Here Are some of the tools I used... A Small Portable Vac...A piece of smaller tubing taped to the larger Vac hose... A Pick Up Tool ... and a Magnet. Also not shown was a Video Bore camera I used to spot the offending Gack. This was after body work... Dibree courtesy of the Body guy. But considering the super hi quality of his work... It didn't bother me to deal with the problem.

Make sure you tape off the body area so you don't fark the paint up.
Stick the Vac hose as close to the outside of the body which will cause it to drop all the way down to the drain area.

Tie a string around anything you stick down there so you won't lose it.

When your done pulling out all the gack shoot your garden hose in that area and your'll see where the water comes out. You can finish up with a straightened out coat hanger to probe and clear the hole..

Good Luck

Good tips by Mark (VNV) and others above. The second part of the attached PDF contains info provided by forum members on locating the drain holes for the fresh air plenums.
Hope this helps.

Just thought I'd add this little tidbit along with all the other fine suggestions. Another area to check is under the cowl vent grills for any hairline (or larger) cracks where the firewall bonds to the cowl. I had a significant amount of water coming in from under the dash after washing my car the first time. Of course, my first thought was, holy crap the windshield must be leaking . However, I discovered that there were several cracks in the aforementioned area. I sealed them with some black 3M weather stripping adhesive and, no more leaks.

So if your vent drains are clear or, you've cleared them and you're still getting some water inside I suggest checking that area as well. Good luck!
