I ordered a cooling fan from dewitts. I want to put the sensor in the head in the big front plug. Where can I get a plug that I can thread the sensor into ?? This is for a 67 427-435
This is the plug where I want to put the sensor.

I'm not sure of the threads for the head, but if you can find out what the head has, and if it is not the same as the switch, then you can buy a brass adapter fitting at a hardware store.

It's pretty damn big like the size of a freeze out plug.

I DO NOT think I would mess with the plug on the VERY FRONT face of the cylinder head. I know the plug you are referring to and it is NOT like others are thinking. I am bold and darning at times and have done some crazy stuff...but I seriously doubt I would NOT try to remove it.
Using a thermostat housing with the pipe threaded hole in it may be your only option as posted by 'wmf62' in POST# 5.
AND....when you install the switch...and how ever you have to get it to fit and work. JUST MAKE SURE....that is it best that you do not use Teflon tape IF AT ALL POSSIBLE....and if you use Teflon tape or the liquid Teflon thread sealant...knowing where to apply it is important you do not effect the ground quality needed for this switch to actually be correctly effective.
IF you have to....then you need to check and make sure that the portion of the new switch where you use your socket to install it...and some where on the block....you use an ohmmeter and VERIFY that you have darn near 100% contact...and this will be determined due to the really low number of ohms when you check it.
