I've got the Coker gold lines and they don't exude a lot of confidence in the corners. Any tire rub issues?

I have 14 year old Coker redlines on my GTX and while I think they are making some noise and need to be re-balanced (purchased mounted by Coker on Magnum 500s) they do seem to be holding up pretty well. I had someone on the Mopar B-body Forum state that the older Coker redlines, while not great tires they generally held up pretty well but the newer ones were very poor and had lots of problems. Sounds about right. I don't know - I decided I will probably go with Diamondback for new tires for my Corvette. They seem to be competitive with Coker on price so not much reason not to.

I'd be careful with 14 year old tires, the standard seems to be to replace tires because of age at the 6 year mark. I bought the new michelins to replace 9 year old Firestone radials that started sliding a bit on aggressive turns.

They are a lot younger than the BF Goodrich tires on the Vette that I installed about 1993. Both are up for replacement this winter.

With the Cokers it's probably dependent on the condition of the mold as almost all of their tires are made by one company - McCreary Tire and Rubber.

215/70 R15 Diamond Back Classics on a midyear -- but they do rub on the frame if turned to full lock.

I put Diamondback Michelin 215/70-15 on my 67 yesterday. While breaking down my Kumho tires I noticed that they have the exact tread pattern as the new Michelin's I put on.

VERY nice! As I've said before, redlines look great on a black car but, they look even BETTER with that red stinger.

I think I remember reading that a lot of Stock and FAST class racers use Cokers for traction where a stock appearing tire is required. Seems like it was their bias-ply tire - is that correct?
