It's had to imagine that a person with the talent and ability to do that kind of work (abuse), would even consider doing it. Are they all George Barris wannabe's?

Default More ugly

Hi,

Here is a picture of the car my husband bought about 28 years ago for an off frame restoration. He's still working on it. Sigh.

What were they thinking?

ugh!

He should have left it as the time-capsule that he was and driven it. You'd of had 28 years of driving memories to share by now. I can't count how many guys I know who have torn down their classic car to 'restore' it only to let the parts sit for decades to become tripped over, lost, and eventually sold off at the estate sale. Hope he gets it in gear and on the road SOON!

That car screams 70's - I'd drive it just like it looks to a car cruise in my leisure suit with the Bee-Gees singing "Stayin' Alive" on the radio and it would be far and away the most unique car in the place...

Absolutely!

That look was cool in the late 60's. It then became "out" or uncool. But today, while hardly anyone would set out to DO that, having one from "back then" is fantastic! He would have been better off just leaving it as it was for a while, then dusting it off and bringing it back out to enjoy.

That is incredible. Like others have pointed out already....leave it like it is and drive it!

Trying to remember the name of that movie from the 70's, was it Corvette Summer, with the red vette and funky front hood cowl.... As funky as that car was, it clearly motivated me to want a corvette in my lifetime... Or maybe it was the chick in the movie.....

Roadster, I like it! The work and detail that went into some of those paint jobs was amazing.

LSD was popular in the late sixties and early seventies; they should've kept it away from the body shops.

The bra is a nice touch.

Curb feelers? I can’t even remember the last time I saw those.

Update: Amazon sells curb feelers:
