interior Door lock Handle trim
I have a photo of the plastic behind the door lock .
This is part # 481336 in Corvette Central catalogue, page 108.
As you can see, it is cracked and broken.
My question is --- how hard is it to get the door lock off in order to replace this round plastic piece? Is there a special tool needed?
thanks

Take a shop towel or an old nylon stocking (not the wife's new ones) and feed it between the plastic trim and the ****. Pull on one side and then the other to work the clip out of the groove. If it doesn't work in one direction, try from the back side as someone may have put the clip on backward.
I spent a lot of time with a brake adjustment tool before I learned the rag trick right here on the forum.
But, Yes, they do make a tool to do it also. Don't have a P/N, but NAPA and other good parts shacks will have it.
The vendor tool works on side window and vent window cranks....its not worth a hoot on C1 or C2 door locks. I've never got the rag trick to work either. Here is my method. I fumble a bit in the first video because of trying to position the camera while working - it is actually easy to do.. The blue tape 'pointer' is to show me where the ****'s lever is pointed...to reinstall it properly.

did you do this just for me, or did you have it already on file?
ONE question. looks like you pushed the clip all the way down before reinstalling it. Is that right? will it push ON with it already pushed IN?
thanks
