I owned a Mobil gas station for 10 years. I also had a case where one of my gas customers bought a new Ford Expedition and it would mysteriously die on him while driving. After having it back to the dealer numerous times for the problem it was finally solved. The Mobil Speed Pass fob was interfering with the wireless security system in the steering unit. He took the speed pass off his key chain, problem solved. I won't install any wireless aftermarket devise in any car ever again. I only do hard wired units now.
Perfectly fine, but I'm not uninstalling my split window wireless backup camera so your car will start

Just sayin, wireless is not all problem free. I'm in the automotive business so the little bit of money you make on installing one of these devises is lost in spades when it comes back and you have to fix the problems it's caused for free. You have a unit that is working fine for you, good for you.
Yeah, not true.
My father ran Michelin radials on his '58 fuelie. He put them on immediately after he bought it. Pushed him up a class in SCCA racing.
Carter
I watched a video of a old motorcycle race where the bias ply tire deformed at a certain speed and blew apart, they showed what happened to the tire in slow motion, scary stuff. This was before radials were the norm.
My '64 Roadster now has:
Front disc brakes
Vintage Air
Borgeson power steering
Retrosound stereo with dash and kick panel speakers
Bolt-on knock-off reproduction wheels with radial tires
Rebuilt .030 over 327 from a '68 Camaro (original engine in storage)
Hurst shifter
New exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers
Koni shocks
My upgrades involve items that improve reliability, safety, comfort, appearance, and convenience rather than performance.
PS and PB (added by PO)
Bolt-ons (added by PO)
Radial Tires
Vintage Air
Mallory Unilite
LED tail lights
100 amp alternator
Solid state voltage regulator
Holley 4160 with electric choke
Dewitts combo radiator & electric fan
Teak steering wheel (my wife scored Eric Freeman's last one for me)
Red key battery cutoff mounted inside glove box
Bluetooth device that plays iphone tunes, wirelessly, through the original, unmodified, radio/speaker
Replace vinyl seats with leather (next project)
The NCM is 500 miles from my house and I drove the 66 up last year. Made the same trip in the 2016 this year.
Wow! Beautiful stance on your Sunfire yellow It's funny when you have the repo knock off's how good the stock hubcap with goldlines look What radials are you running including size?

Yup, it happens - even with factory equipment. I have a good friend who brought his new 2005 Corvette back to his 40 year old house/garage. The car went completely dead/would not start in the garage. After much investigation and a long story it turned out his old garage door opener frequency was interfering with the Corvette fob frequency.
I'm a C2 newb, but the TKO600 was HUGE..... Totally transformed cruising pleasure with my wife for those 2-3 hour drives we do often. With 3.70's, 70 mph is now about 2050 rpm. Transformed the sound from headbanging to Grateful Dead. Worth every penny.

I hate to hijack the thread but when us older guys recall something related from our past it's just too difficult to let it go.
Back about 1974 the Corps of Engineers had a bunch of International Harvester pickups that were so long and low they were completely useless out on the dam construction site I worked at, so they were relegated to running errands and deliveries up and down the roads. They were the first work vehicles we had received with an electronic ignition system. One of them on a frequent route it was driven, took to completely shutting down on the road - always in about the same location. After a period it would re-start. After several instances of this and studying the area, our maintenance guy finally figured out that every time it was driven by a particular radio repeating tower we had installed for our Motorola radios, the radio signal apparently killed the ignition system. After awhile it would re-set or something and start back up. We had a hard time accepting this story, but it only happened along side that radio transmitter tower.
Hush-Mat in the doors, the floor and the inside of the roof. I also added an additional taillamp ground at the of the frame on my '66 coupe. I also added brighter instrument panel cluster bulbs and probably most importantly, a dab of anti-sieze on the knock-off threads.
Basic comfort adders done to a 50 year old car make cruising, especially long distance, a real joy.
For starters: radial tires and gas shocks to improve the ride. Next up add a cruise control. Adding AC takes it up another notch. ..One might go from there to cover certain mechanical upgrades such as OD trans or differential, suspension and/or steering, headlights. Throw in listening pleasure to round out the package.

BF Goodrich Silvertown 205/75R15 from Coker.
The hubcaps are on 67 rally wheels painted black. I have since replaced them with bolt on knockoffs from Corvette America. I will eventually restore the hubcaps and get some correct 66 steel wheels for them.
Radial tires, power brakes with dual master cylinder, Halogen headlights with upgraded electrics (relays and wiring), LED front and rear turn signals, fire extinguisher, battery cut-off.
Added to my '65:
Petronix electronic ignition
Dewitt Al radiator
Powder coated suspension parts
Poly bushings (bad choice for trailing arm)
Radial tires
Vintage air
Teak steering wheel
