Sometimes it takes a LOT of tweaking to get the grill to fit properly after a serious front end hit and panel replacement. Hopefully this one will pass muster with the judges once repairs are completed! OTOH, I hear that Burke Corvettes in Maitland FL does really good work, so maybe it will not be a problem!

Indeed this car will never been judged, it's a very good driver nothing more, so the fix will be a spacer made of SS tubing or a 65/67 bracket like Tom has suggested.
The fix is easy, but to know the origin of the issue is more difficult. The replacement of the frond end by an aftermarket part is a good candidate.

OBAMA statement what a joke of a President tired about being correct they let this guy get away with way too much s--t .
That 63 is hard to look at any details on that accident. May worst nightmare where corvette's are concerned .

Others on the Forun - and in this thread - are more qualified to speak about the details of that accident than I am.

Yup - it'd be nice to hear from DUB, one of the most qualified body/paint guys on the forum

I don't think Dub would have any idea how this wreck happened, or how things are going getting your car repaired. How are things going? How bad was the frame damage? Were you able to find all NOS or used original body panels and hood, and is she reconstructed yet? Did you find nose parts such that your new grill will fasten up to the inner brackets without spacers or late taller brackets?
I other words, when are you planning to share all the details? Inquiring minds have been wanting to know since June.

I don't really come on here for the inane bantering. I come on here to learn, share my meager knowledge and for the occasional laugh. And you always deliver.

Default Are repro front grille moldings good fit and quality

I'm not getting any replies on the other post but since this post popped up on search and pertains to the front grille I'll try my question here. Has anyone purchased the reproduction grille moldings for a 63. This is the 3 piece molding made of aluminum. The finish on mine are weather so instead of trying to have them plated I'm thinking of buying repro's, installing them and later have mine plated. If you have had good success with new ones, would you tell me the vendor you got them from, thanks

I replaced a 67 grille with the correct 63 setup back when the left and right moldings were 29 dollars each. To my mind, everything fit as expected even though the grille was from a swap meet and the moldings were from LIC.
