Greetings everyone new guy here and I just wanted to say what an awesome site!! I don't have a Corvette but I did just pull the engine out of a 1962 Impala that appears to have been in a Vette. number on the block is 4113198 FO 22 IRC still has Tach drive distributor in it. can anyone decode this for me? any value? I know it is just a 250 horse 327. Thanks in advance.
I don't think the block will decode as a Corvette engine (IRC). Most Corvette engines had only 2 letter suffixs. I'm a little out of my area of experience but I think IRC is more typical of an Impala or Chevelle (maybe) engine. I believe the "C" denotes a Carter carb. If I'm wrong I will probably be corrected very shortly.
The only IR I find for 63 - 67 ties to a 427/390 engine so that's out. Not having much luck on an IRC small block of that code. Maybe the decoder site I'm using isn't all that complete.

It's a 250 HP 327 out of 64 Corvette VIN # 13198.
I'm reading F 0221 RC, Flint, Feb. 21.
RC = 250 HP manual trans.
Value? Worth a lot to the owner of that car if it's still around.
