The Hooker Headers that are on my 62, came with that bracket, and it's served me well for years. Those brackets have been known to crack around the bolt holes, but from my experience it's not a common occurrence. I have been using that bracket with an alternator, since my 62 has been converted from a generator.
I see many engines with this type of bracket and when the engine is running I can watch the alternator move. I mention what I see ( and actually show them also) to the customer and they say: "Its been working for for years." I just shake my head because I KNOW in time..the car will be back in the shop to get this area re-engineered and a better bracket fabricated....becasue of the bad wear on the belt also..

If not, then buy the header mounting bracket (and secondary bracket that the alternator bolts to if needed) and use them. Make sure you get the one for the side of the engine the alternator is on.
Header Power Bracket has you covered. These were developed on the midyear and are the coolest and strongest of the header alternator mounts.
