1. Remove cotter pins from ends of sockets and tighten plugs snugly to remove end play.
2. Back off screw plugs 1/4 to 1/2 turn plus amount necessary to insert cotter pin.
Also make sure the length is adjusted to center steering wheel when wheels are in the straight ahead position.
