Default GPS speedometer

At SEMA in Nov and saw a few vendors now offering replacement speedos using GPS to operate the gauge. I have been struggling with non-working speedometers in my LS3/Tremec equipped C2 and wondering if anyone here knows of vendors who offer this with a stock looking 65 guage. If not, what are my options since cable driven have left me very frustrated.
Thx.

I wonder if you could use this: http://www.zip-corvette.com/65-67-el...rsion-kit.html

with one of these: http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd837.htm

or one of these: http://classicdash.com/product/unive...erface-module/

SLWRNU,
You mention that you're running a Tremec, they usually have a sensor sending unit (VSS, vehicle speed sensor)(two wire plug near the top of the tranny on the passenger side). If the wiring harness you're using is wired to bring that signal from the tranny to the ECM it's a simple plug-in.
There's no way a speedo will be able to read anything off the engine since the engine doesn't know what gearing, tire O.D., etc you're running.

Good luck,
Rick

I have used a GPS speedometer in my race car and found it very accurate
from 20 mph to 200 mph.
Very little effort to install.

Most Tremec 500 & 600 transmissions have a provision for either an electronic speedo output signal (likely what you have) on the passenger side of the housing

OR

a mechanical output driving a speedo gear (of various colors) depending on your gearing/tire size. This is located directly opposite on the drivers side (2nd picture from left).

My Tremec 600 5-speed has the mechanical speedo gear and cable to drive my stock 66 speedometer. You could call SST and the great folks there would be able to help you out selecting the right colored gear and housing. Bill
