Default C2 Vette with P205/75R15 Bias Ply tires

Want to purchase radial redlines for '67 Vette. Replacement options are P205, P215, P225, and P235. What is the largest size that will fit without rubbing or requiring modifications?
Thanks for your time.

205-75's are perfect. No rub issues and they look correct.

Welcome to the CF. A vault load of experience and assistance awaits you. I have 205/70/15 on American 200-S 15x7 wheels with NO issues. Do some research on here about red line tire quality of the two dominate makers before you drop $1000. Dennis

Doesn't the "R" in P205/75R15 indicate they are radials, not bias ply?

"R" for radial as I have ever known. Dennis

7 years ago I bought Michelin X, 215/70/15 redlines from DiamondBack and love them. The only time I have had a rub issue, is when I enter a driveway a little too fast.

You are correct. I currently have a set of radial white walls on stock rally's, but a beautiful set of Kelsey-Hayes turbine wheels and two sets of dry rotted redline bias ply tires came with the car as well. I'm itching to get the turbines on the car and wondered what the best option was for tire size when switching to radial. I was considering P225/70R15 for extra rubber on the road but am very worried about the potential for rub.

Are the two manufacturers Coker and Michelin then? I didn't even know Michelin made them until I saw the pics from ricks327. Right off the rip I'd say that Michelin has a hell of a name. I also read before that some people didn't exactly like the all season tread pattern on the Coker tire.

My personal opinion on Coker is to use them for a trailer queen. You are buying a radial, so your car will not be a trailer queen, go with the Michelin redline tire from Diamondback. I haven't read about the tread pattern on the Coker but they have had huge problems with balancing. I have had both and would never go back to Coker for a driver car.

I would worry too. The extra fraction of an inch of width isn't going to do anything positive for handling but it will eventually take out a section of fender.

Besides, wider and shorter than original tires look bad on a 63-67 car. They kill the lines of the body.

A 205-75 is just slightly larger in diameter and width than the original 6.70 or 7.75's that these cars came with and they work well.

I went 215/70/15 from DiamondBack for my '66 this spring and love them!
If you're actually going to drive your car, they're hard to beat.

Currently putting a new engine in, (385HP) so I suspect Ill be ordering a couple rears soon!

Good luck!

Got the 215-70-R15 Diamondback Michelin radials a couple of months ago and they are great. Haven't had a rub issue in about 9 miles since breaking in the engine and doing some trial runs since the restoration

The tires in the pic below are Michelin 205-70 R15 radials on the 63. Note that the back end of the car is a bit high, as I just set it down, so the gap between the top the tires and the rear wheel well will actually be smaller ...

I have 215 65R 15 Cooper Cobras on repro knock offs on my 64 and they come really, really close to rubbing the E brake cable sheathing. I probably will be replacing them with the 205's. Live and learn I guess..

Like 195x75's but can't find them anymore, so now it's 205x75. Best look.

I have 205-75's on my 66 big block with slightly droopy front springs and never had any issues. They're perfect.
