I had someone contact me about a pair of wheel I am looking for the back of my 57 and this is what they said about the wheels. Will this be a problem with running true or balance?
"Someone has really cranked the lug nuts down on them at one time. Besides widening the edges of the hole where the lugs seat, the whole area has been distorted inward. Hard to see, but if you look at the second picture you can see that the rim seats against the rotor or axle hub on an area not right next to the lug holes, and over tightening the lugs has pushed the whole area around the holes inward. Seems like someone had an impact set on high and kept their finger on the trigger as long as the lug was still turning."
I'd pass on them. The loading on the wheel pad is no longer as the factory intended. They might be fine, or they may develop cracks and/or not run true.

Most lug nuts have conical sides facing towards the wheel to provide a "self-centering" effect. Which is why I'm extra careful when putting lug nuts on to jiggle the wheel as I lightly tighten each one until all are seated and centered -- only then do I torque to specs.
If some wiener with an air gun snugs the nuts down to 200 ft-lbs and distorts the flange where the lug nut fits I don't know how you'll get it centered to stay put without doing the same thing.
A bad scene Daddyo...
