I am changing out the radio in my 64 and slowly installing led bulbs for lighting in dash. I have the console lid out and the radio side panels out. while trying to put the bulbs in the clock, I pulled a 3 prong connector loose from something. might go on heater fan switch but not sure. I can't really tell. doesn't look like the prongs match the 3 on one side of the heater fan switch. 4 wires go into connector. 3 prongs out. wires: one black/orange stripe, one black yellow stripe, one blue/lt. blue stripe and one all black. also, can any one tell me what holds the clock to the fiberglass panel? I am a newbie at this and it's hard to tell. I am currently in process of getting a manual.
any help, many thanks
phil
Except for the black, those wire colors match up to the connector that plugs onto the heater fan switch. They go from the fan switch to the wire resistor at the heater to establish fan speed. There is also a brown wire that feeds the 12v from the fuse panel to the switch.
The radio is held in by two spring clips, one on each side that have slots in them You push the ends toward the rear of the car and then slide them in the opposite direction of the clock. So the clip on the passenger side would slide toward the glove box, and the driver's side toward the steering wheel. Then the clock comes out through the front of the center console.
