Default help with a gauge

I have had 3 stock gauges in my dash of our 63 & cannot get 1 to work . Presently have a aftermarket working laying on the console. wrong size . Can anyone suggest a non-stock gauge that will fit in that hole & work. I hope it does not matter but my sensor goes in the side of the head of my crate motor 350-383. Thanks for any suggestions

Bill Harrison is within driving distance of you and can probably fix your original gauge and you won't have a crappy looking cluster with those classy 63 gauges and one aftermarket odd-looking one.. Search for Harrison Speedometer...

If we're talking temperature here, C2's are pretty simple. They have 12v on one side of the gauge. The other side feeds through the bulkhead connector and goes straight to the sensor. The sensor changes resistance according to temp and drops more or less voltage causing the gauge to change. The original wire was green, if you short the sensor wire at the sensor to ground the gauge should read full scale. If it doesn't you have a broken wire, bad connection in the bulkhead connector, an open gauge (not likely on 3 different gauges), or you don't have 12v going to the other side of the gauge. You can test for 12v on the gauge, and short the sensor wire to ground and probably find your problem in a couple of minutes.
