Thanks Frank and Jack. Are the Lectric Limited and the Stealth the same product? Jack you mentioned that I should buy what Frank recommends. I am confused. Thanks again.

Whats the advantage ? Ignition points are cheap, easy and reliable. Even back in the day on my daily driver Chevelle I drove thousands of trouble free miles.
With the miles most of us drive our cars the next set of points needed will be long after were gone. I check the dwell and timing once a year.

One advantage that interests me is the auto shutoff when engine isn't running with key on, no current flows to overheat your coil or run down your battery as it would if the points happen to be closed. My 60 doesn't have an acc position, so that would be a good feature to have. I don't care for Pertronix or any other of the "performance" enhancers, but the lectric limited system is ultimately simple and reversible if necessary.

My problem with Pertronix is the number of failures with no warning among personal acquaintances (not anecdotal). I read multiple responses here where people have used them for years with no problem, so I am not criticizing anyone who wants to use them. However, I have also read all the questions about ballast resistors, resistor wire, coil resistance issues, and the only troubleshooting is replacing the unit. I run points and condensor in my 60, but I once ran lectric limited in a 72 for a couple of years and it was very simple and reliable, with stock wiring and coil. I would really only consider switching from points so I could leave my switch on for troubleshooting electronics, or playing radio, or wipers, or anything else that I wanted. Even with that, I would carry a set of points and condensor with me on trips to ease my paranoia. Lectric Limited can be switched back as easy as points can be changed. I guess all that is neither here nor there since his question was where to buy and not whether to buy

If your worried about a Petronix failing just carry an extra one rather than carrying extra points and condenser.

Well, lets do the math $140. for a Lectra Limited unit.
$69.58 for a Pertronix
You can buy 2 of the Pertronix for the price of one of the other PLUS the cost of your points and condenser.
Here is a link to Summit for the Pertronix

I know what I would be doing.

I've had a Pertronix 1 and Flamethrower coil in my 67 for about 7 years. No problems and I like it a lot.
Get ready for some haters, though.
