A new sender and gauge should be about $100. Might be the simplest way to go if yours is malfunctioning.
Thanks for trying to help but my wiring harness is new , my sender is new, gauge was new. My new sender goes into the side of the head instead of the intake manifold . Could that make a difference ? 350-383 w aluminum heads

I've had problems with new senders before and maybe that's what's causing yours.
What happens to your gauge reading when you remove the sender wire from the sender and ground it directly to a good ground on the block. If it goes full right, the problem is with the sender.
If you used sealer on the threads of the sender, it could also interfere with the sender grounding. Dave
