My dad recently passed away and left me his 1966 corvette sting ray convertible. It was supposed to be my wedding gift but i never got married but he left me the vette anyways. It is a bit rusted and needs body work. It does not have original engine. It is a rare 3 speed with radio delete. It also has power windows. so rare combination. I'm debating between selling it as is vs. trying to fix it up then sell it. I have no idea what it would cost to fully restore to great condition. anybody have any advice here?
Given the fact that rust is generally the biggest issue in these cars, I'm not seeing a problem with the "story," whatever that is.

So many red flags?
Why the back story?

Knows its rare for options but knows nothing else
What advise as to restore or sell as on forum, doesn't have an uncle, friend, local shop, or neighbor that knows cars?
don't you find it funny that people post this stuff and never come back to reply
Yeah, it's too bad they don't realize how much help they can get with their problem if they would just hang around and provide a little more information.
Really? rusted ? Is it just me that doesn't belive this story?
Really? She makes her first at 11:28 (PT) and gets the above response an hour and eleven minutes later saying someone doesn't "belive" her story. I'd leave too.

Remember what your mother told you "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all."
The OP is asking for assistance, not to be judged by someone that does not know them.

Heck, cut her some slack. SOME people have lives that do not revolve around responses from a forum.
Hopefully she responds so those who feel this thread was 'questionable'... she can prove them wrong. If she doesn't...I can understand why.
WE ALL had to start somewhere and learn about these cars.

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
