Battery on a '61
Anyone know where I can find a photo of an installed battery on a '61? Just curious how the positive battery cable is isolated from the metal hold down bracket. The felt washer doesn't seem to be large enough to completely isolate it. I guess I could stick a piece of rubber between the battery terminal and the hold down if I have to.

If you have an owners manual there is a diagram of an installed battery and cable unit. Also under the + terminal of the battery you should have a felt washer that acts as an insulator. Myself I routed the cables across the battery so that the battery cable ends ended on the inside area of the battery.

Modern batteries have different spacing on the terminals.
It does clear but it makes me a little nervous too.
I would NOT trust a felt washer for electrical isolation.

Split a rubber fuel line and push it on along the battery cover rail. Done.

That is just the color coding on some cables; note the "P" on the clamp itself...
I'm not crazy about it either....you have to double check things when connecting cables or jump starting the car...

Frankie is right. The ground wire is a braided metal cable with no jacket.
I believe these are correct... but I'm not a NCRS-type.
