Default Fuel Pump Installation Help...PLEASE!!!

I just a acquired a 1965 C2 with a 327/365 HP motor and the fuel pump promptly failed. I've been a Mustang guy forever and the replacement was easy. Yesterday I spent 3 hours removing one bolt on the 65. Can someone please tell me how to replace the fuel pump...The part is correct as I compared it to the one I removed. No a/c or p/s...It just looks like you need six hands to do the job...Please help!!!

Good info.

I use a set of needle nose vice grips to clamp off the fuel hose from the tank before disconnecting it. Clamp only tight enough to stop the fuel flow. There are fancy tools to do it, but I don't have room in my box for everything.

After messing with mine for a long, frustrating time on my 327/300, probably five hours or so, I disconnected the lower radiator hose from the water pump, tied it out of the way and was able to complete the job. Until I did that, no tool known to mankind would do what I needed it to do.

I've always used a swivel, two extensions, socket and a ratchet. If you can't get to it from the top take the passenger side wheel off and go thru the fender well.. I find that way harder than the first way but both work. No removal of the lower radiator hose or any other parts..

Its a bit of a pain either way but no worse than lots of other jobs on these cars...

If that pump is original it can be rebuilt and saved.

This is what I've done too. Maybe its messy, but, it'll get the job done.
