It made it really tough to see from the other cars headlights going the opposite direction on the back roads. Lots of rice/corn fields around this area. Plus, river is close during the drive.
Had to get the cleaner out and remove the mess. Still evening summer drives with the top down on a not so used highway or country road is the best kind of driving.

I remember my parents drove through a cloud of cicada bugs when I was a kid. It was a mess. Only way to clean it was to stop at a gas station and use the hose. There were cars lined up waiting to clean off the mess.
Riding motorcycles thru farm fields with an open face helmet and glasses. Just my luck to get a big juicy yellow one on each lens within about 50 feet. Had to pull off the road as i couldn't see.

Back in the 60's, up in Wisconsin, my cousin hit a swarm of honey bees while riding his motor cycle. He was riding without a shirt. Only got a couple stings but plenty of welts. Very luck not to get hit in the eyes.

Frankie, I haven't seen blind mosquito since we left Winter Haven in 1986. But we now have love bugs in Texas. Starting to get a little worse from the RGV up through the King Ranch.
Another reason I left Florida. To many bugs, spiders, snakes, ants, roaches and many other creepy crawlers. Here in Oregon we just have rain and that washes off the bugs.
The blind mosquito haven't been too bad in recent years. About 4 years ago though it was like a plaque. So many hit my overhead garage doors I thought it was rain. Gross..and they seem to be enamored of any available body orifice...
