Default 1954 Spare tire tub

We'll, I have 300 trouble free miles on my '54.
Over the last two years I've done a frame/drivetrain restoration and it turned out pretty good except for a problem I noticed yesterday when I had it on the lift. The rear differential is hitting the spare tire tub. I put new springs from Paragon and new shocks that's the only change I made. When I lowered the body onto the frame everything lined up perfectly. So, any ideas why this is happening? Thanks....

Having has about 7 of the 54 Vettes I have not a clue why you are having this trouble but I did send the link to the thread to a couple guys who may be able to help you. Hang in there, one or both will reply I am sure.

I have seen it before
You can try to loosen all the body mounts and slide the frame forward and body backwards.

I know it doesn't help in your situation, but I thought I would pass on my experience. I had the same problem, but worse, on my 55. The body had never been off the frame. When I removed the rear leaf springs I founded the center bolt on both springs had sheared which I believe allowed the rear axle to shift backwards against the tire tub. I can't think any other explanation.

I had the springs re arched and reinstalled which so far looks ok.

Yep, that's the first thing I looked at. With only 300 miles on the car I doubted those pins would of sheared this fast, but I did check. Thanks.
