Default soft top info

Can anyone tell me the width and thickness of the tack strips used on the 1960 Corvette soft top frame? I see 1/2" WIDE x 5/16" THICK or 5/8" wide X 316" THICK (plastic) for sale on Ebay....

Also what is the method of attaching the big rubber weather-strip to the front (windshield) header bow? I see several pre=punched holes in the rubber strip but no threaded holes (for screws) in this front bow...

I would order the DVD on the soft-top install but discussion I have read say that it is very grainy and near unusable for detail info.

The 1961 Chevy shop manual goes into complete detail for Impalas, but the ST-12 Corvette Service manual offers only limited info...also it appears some of the important 'birds eye views' are infact backwards as in inside-out!

Default Soft top

I have the DVD, and it is not grainy and was very helpful.

I have the VHS (yes VHS) tape for the complete install. It is "grainy" but still very thorough. Now if I can just get up the courage to rip my old top off, restore the bows and go for it I could cross that repair off my list. I bought an original Robbins vinyl top years ago that has been sitting in dry storage. I pulled it out about a month ago an it is still pliable and ready to go. I have the soft top pads so I just need a few more weatherstrips.

I intend on posting the results and offering the video to anyone that is as crazy as I am for attempting this install.
