Vent window problem
Had the vent window frames removed a few years ago, re-chromed and new weather strips installed. since that time the vent windows have not closed properly. they crank closed to the weather strip at the top of the vertical bar but must be forced in by hand.
The short horizontal frame at the top of the window appears to have a 1/32 to 1/16th of an inch space between the frame and the weather strip which stops the window from closing all the way. Are these vent windows adjustable??

The whole unit is adjustable , and must be done with the door panel off. there are bolts the allow the whole unit to move up down and forward...however,,,,the vent window is not adjustable in the frame.
You may have to trim the rubber to get it to close....be careful..

Had a similar problem after installing new rubber around the vent windows. Wouldn't close properly. Turned out the weatherstripping wasn't the issue. It was the regulators. Installed new ones...problem gone.

It helps to lube up the window weatherstripping with something like silicon grease and push the window into the seal all the way and let it sit there for a few months until the rubber relaxes. But depending on the rubber and how far out it is, it may not help. Regulators in good shape are definitely a help if you plan to use them.

You might want to check the regulator...there is a plate backside and another on the bottom, they are staked into place...if someone tried to crank the regulator handle too hard or if a break-in was attempted, or even if the grease inside gets hard, one of them may pop off and now reside in the bottom of your door. end result you regulator works very poorly...if you can find the plate it can be re-staked into place.
