I know some people have put later Corvette seats in their cars -- I believe they were out of the C5. I have Recaro seats in my coupe, with specially-made brackets.

Default Opportunity to pool the info on C2 seat upgrades?

Wouldn't it be nice (hmm...good song title) if the C2 FAQ had a "seat upgrade" category?

There are many CF members who have adapted seats from Fieros, later Corvettes, etc --and have engineered the necessary seat adapters. Lots of valuable info out there, spread out in many threads over the years.

It would be highly useful to have this info compiled into a single location for ease of reference by those considering this upgrade.

And everyone who had changed their C2 seats should be invited to contribute what they did and how it's worked out.

I love my '65s, but adjustable seat backs and more lateral support would sure be appreciated....

To the OP do a search of Fiero and you will see pictures of Fiero seats and other options plus how to install.

I used seats from an early C4 Corvette with passenger side mounting brackets for both seats. The driver's side power seat bracket was too big. I was able to use some of the original mounting holes in the floor, but I had to drill some holes and add mounting plates to finish the job. ... They are much more comfortable that the originals, but they make access to the rear area in my coupe more difficult. ... BTW, while I was at it I fabricated and upholstered a box that slips down over the hump between the seats and serves as a storage area, arm rest and drink holder. There are commercial ones for sale also.

look at procar seats made by scat. they offer several. they are good quality and value priced. summit and jegs and speedway sell them. they make both high and low back styles in vinyl and leather(special order). they also make bracket/slider kits for the installation. the rallye is popular and fits in a mid year well. several on the forum have used them. I used the procar elite lumbar in my 64. it's a bit larger seat than the rally. and, I am a big guy. you lose about 2'' of travel with the elite. it hits the side of the console. recaro's also are nice but very expensive.

TMI makes a great looking seat that I plan on purchasing for my '64. Can't answer the track question yet as I haven't gotten far enough along to buy seats...

Not to hijack, but I'd like to hear what guys have done for convertibles. I'm 6' and with my seat in a comfortable driving position the seat back is under the deck lid so none of the popular swaps would appear to work. I'm not willing to spend the money to cut down & reupholster a pair of later buckets, so I'd like to find a seat to swap that's a low back.

One of the things I most love about my '92 C-4 is the comfort and support of the seats. I know some guys have adapted them for C-2 use but I don't have any specific info to offer.

If you go to a car show or a Corvette club gathering maybe you can talk a few C-4 and C-5 owners to let you sit in theirs just for evaluation and comparison.

I am literally in the middle of the process of putting 3rd Gen Miata seats in my 64. I mounted the driver side and took my first drive yesterday. They are from an 06 or 07 Miata I believe, I got them from a wreck used as a race car and paid 2 crates of beer for them !

I will do a writeup in my build thread, but the install is relatively easy, the brackets can be removed by drilling a small spot weld and a rivet on each one. I made new feet to adapt and attached to rails, the width, height and slide function work great in the C2. The style is simple enough to pass, maybe not period correct, but I dont think they look terribly out of place.

I like them as they have an integrated guide for use with the seatbeltsolutions 3 point kit, seems it will all work out nice.

I am 5'10" and 200lbs and I dont think they would be great for a much larger driver than that, but they stick to me like glue, totally transforms they feeling behind the wheel !
