Default clock bezel mounting

Guys,
i have the clock out of the 67 and the bezel surround is separated from the clock itself...It seems to press in with little built in pins....but they don't hold it on very well....how was this attached...pressed in at factory?...should I use some epoxy to put it back together..?

I generally get a new bezel due to the pins where staked to keep the housings together.

Epoxying it together may cause for a bit of grief if you actually have to get into it and service it.

I dunno - if some of that black strip caulk (dum-dum) would hold it on (I've never had one apart) I'd go with that before epoxy. You'll have a hissy fit getting the thing apart later on if you use epoxy..

One of mine fell off about 20-30 years ago and I stuck it back on with silicone. Still there.

You can get a very small drill and tap set. I think it is 2-56. Drill and tap and use screws to hold it back in. I just did mine over winter.

Mine fell out last week. Used a little super glue and then epoxy at the 3 locations with the pins. Seems to be holding up well. Should have taken pics.

You can use these or the screws that come with gas door emblem replacement kits, which are 2-56 self tapping screws. Process is the same as drilling and mounting a replacement gas door emblem. Bezel is still holding on since doing this repair in 1999.
