Actually what he said was "The engine is not in but I do have it and it is an original engine that was stamped with matching numbers." I read that as the original engine. Maybe not the best way to describe it but based on his limited knowledge I think that is what he means as in stamped at the factory. If he gives us pictures and numbers as I asked hopefully we will be able to make a determination. However, as I have said many times before it is difficult to tell from pictures.

From those pictures it is clearly not a basket case. If it is mostly original, most importantly the engine, then it has value, being a pretty original SWC.
Have someone knowledgeable who will not try to take advantage of you take a look at the car. It can mean the difference of several (if not tens) of thousand so dollars difference.
I am looking for as much help as possible as I inherited a 63 split window when my dad passed a year ago. I am looking for ballpark values as is and if restored. Ballpark restoration costs as well. I know these are very vague without being able to see it but hopefully I can provide enough details to get close or someone can put me in touch with someone near the Cincinnati, Ohio area that could be helpful.
Condition: it has been garaged since at least 1977. It was originally blue but was painted white. The engine is not in but I do have it and it is an original engine that was stamped with matching numbers. I believe I have 95 percent of the parts if not all of them for a restore. The body is in great shape with no dings. The anterior is in great condition, no rips or tears. My dads got it for a trade in the late sixties and has had it since. His goal was to restore it but his health took him away from it. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I received your email and just got my internet back after hurricane IRMA so I will look over the info you provided and give you some insights this evening...
Most buyers want cars complete and ready to drive!Take what ever cash you can get and invest it. The parts are realy expensive and a paint job on this ermine white car $10,000.00 Material alone can be well over three grand . It looks like a base car by the tach! Maybe a 327 300 hp . If it was the 365 horse motor maybe you would get $35,000.00 . Thats a $30,000.00 car and i been buying and selling since 1962. Its a lot of work keeping these cars on the road! Repairs, insurance, storage . You better have a lot of cash to restore this and time. Join the NCRS if you plan on keeping it because they know there cars and are a big help when you have a question. There might even be a local chapter in your area. Good Luck!

Then you should know they did not make a 365 h.p. in 1963. 340 or 360 were the big ones.

If you are buying and selling and you have that level car available for 30 or a 360 horse (otherwise known as a fuelie) for 35, I'll take 5, please.

I am fairly close to your location. I'm an experienced Corvette restorer. I have the knowledge to really understand what you have. I would appreciate the opportunity to look at the car and parts and appraisa what you have.I think it might be fun and rewarding to restore the car to its original state. Might remind you of your father.

Get it running and drive it!
I've been looking for a '63 swc and there are many others like me.
I found a '67 coupe yesterday and bought it. That was my second choice year. I'm happy to be new to this forum. I've been in the c6 and C7.
As far as your value, it's amazing what a car that needs restoration can fetch. If solid, it will probably be built into a restomod.
Thank you to all the people on here who have helped me gather information on what I actually have. You guys have been absolutely wonderful and I have learned a ton about the car and now have an understanding of what I do have. I will be selling it and will post more pics in the next few days with the information I have learned about it. In gerneral the interior is all original and in great shape. The body is in very good shape and everything is original minus the wheels, gas cap, windshield wipers, and most importantly as I have learned the engine. The engine I have for it is a 327 that was re-stamped with matching numbers. The orginal color was a silver blue and the interior is a dark navy. I did have someone out to my house to give me all of these details and a giant thank you goes out to John for that and then Frankie for his email correspondence. Thanks again and I will get better pics up here soon.
