I have been doing some research on my 67 L79 delivery dealership; Ewing Chevrolet in Canton, Ohio. They closed in 07 but it seems that they were known as a performance dealer as well as being the longest running family-owned shop. A fair number of 69 COPO Cameros came through there and they sponsored some teams or cars into the 80's. Hemmings did articles on a couple of them.
Found this photo of their frame and a cool decal and COPO. Has anyone heard of them or have any connection?
I would love to track down a frame, but would likely need a local connection

But the Sports Department went along with the new Advertising Campaign started in 1968 thru about 1970. This is known as the OJ Simpson years or campaign when he did some print ad stuff for Chevrolet. This decal you have, is the dealerships own variation on that overall National Ad campaign (Sports Department). This was an image campaign, and separate from what was happening in the Performance Dealership Parts Departments, but as this was a National Campaign, all dealerships could order the higher optioned cars. There was a run of nylon jackets and the Sports Department patches. I think the Yenko book, shows the Blazer and patch, or just look for the Sports Department Sales Pamphlet that has OJ on it. They also were doing the TV Commercials. .
What is the date of sale of your car????? If it sat on the lot, then maybe it was sold while Chevrolet was doing this National Campaign.

The son of Ernie Porter worked for me, as one of my Maintenance Men for awhile prior to retiring. He actually had nothing from his own Father's dealership, so I gave him one of my Post Cards!!!! He kept promising to check his family photos and share anything he found, but never kept his promise as he had some things hit him in life.

I mistakenly called the last run repos!!!!!! But these were (non-Robert Brown) frames in the final years of their Dealership,, and returned to the Corvette at the top fitted between the two holes, and the long Harry Mann with the Chevy emblem at the bottom. As they were a little less into style, they just drilled the bottom holes thru the lettering as they did when it was reversed and Harry Mann ended up at the top for the C3 and on cars.. These would be good for later 70s thru the 80s years. I have one up on Craigslist in Socal for sale, as I have an extra one. I also have the authentic true 1960s ones from Robert Brown with the ears at the bottom and corvette at the top, but if you cant afford one of these for your C2 (and mine are not for sale), then get the last production Non-Robert Brown units, as they are the same configuration as the 1960 units. They just have no ears and bottom holes drilled. The story on the changes. I think I covered it in a thread I think around 2017, that I might not have deleted (I am known for that around here). I need to on occasion go back to see how accurate I was, as I am constantly learning more and more on everything I know, or forgot.

Hi I try to document all of this kind of stuff, and probably have the biggest and most notable Socal Dealership plate Collection on the planet.

To clarify, that decal was not on my 67, but I found it interesting specifically because it was from the Ewing dealership. I suspected it was from 69 which makes sense based on your input.

I am not sure about the Rancho one! I would have to go dig! I have frames from the others you pictured.
When I say biggest- I have almost all of the Porsche ones, Ford, Plymouth, Dodge, AMC, Sports Car one’s, used car lots, things like Auto Haus, Super Shops, SCCA, Hot Wheels, some City plates, and just not only Chevrolet ones from SoCal! And Do it in my Corvette, Do it in a Corvette, and many other variations, Tijuana, Hussongs, San Onofre, KMET, KLOS, etc etc etc etc. I have probably close to a 1000 of them! There is a guy that I know that does beat my collection here locally, but he isn’t a CF guy, not a Corvette Owner!
I know you have a fine collection too!

Ive gathered some great items from my '63's dealer, Big 4 Chevrolet of St Louis, but I've never seen a license plate frame by them. I've had some great help from a former employee there from the NCRS site and one super-helpful contact here on the forum. I went ahead and had a repro made, though, and it looks really good. Im surprised how many people comment on it.
A guy looked at my plate frame and reacted … said to me "Big Four Chevrolet in St Louis?" I said yeah. He said his Dad worked there back in the day. Very cool.

Ernie Porter Sr is our grandfather. Sr still has 2 of his 5 children with us. Jr, my uncle, campaigned Corvairs until the store closed in early 1964. Ernie Porter Sr passed in late 1963 on my father's 17th birthday. I never knew him. Sr would be 110 this year if he was still around.
Bob's sister is the family historian with a lot of family photos.
For legitimate inquiries of the Porter Photo archives not already public I can forward info at her control. I have a yardstick and MANY postcards along with the items I've already shown. I have an original newspaper with the obituary of Ernie Sr. I inherited from my father that he saved.
My mother has a Torch Red Targa 1996 LT4. Her first Corvette was a 65 327 powerglide removable hardtop purchased from Ernie Sr's widow with Jack Wall frames on it. It may have been part of my grandmother's franchise purchase agreement.
