Default C2 Soft Top Frame question

Are the C2 convertible top frames the same or interchangeable?
My car came with only the hard top and I found a 1964 soft top but do not know if it could work on the 1966. I appreciate your experience on this one.

Westlo -

You will find the frames interchangeable. However, on '63-early '65 model year, the #1 bow (over the driver's head) is somewhat different. It's approx. 3/8" & round vs. a more oval/rectangular shape, 3/4" wide x 5/16" thick for late '65-'67.

Thank You for the follow up. FYI: I just learned that the #1 Bow is also made from aluminum on the older tops and steel on the newer tops. I have no idea if one is better than the other. I appreciate the information. This car will never be judged so I will go with the best top I find.
