The only thing is I wish George would not have taken out the split window bar. I am sure that was not an easy car to paint with all that metal flake in the paint. What a great looking car. Thanks for posting the pic for all of us to see.

Not much I care for - the weird interior waterfall, missing rear window split, bass-boat browny-gold paint job, the dolphin tail front. Maybe the Billy Mitchel exhausts are OK.

The two sets of wheels for display reminded me of the Dick Tracy villan HALF AND HALF.

I believe the car was at Carlisle a few years back in their special display area. I seem to remember it mostly because of it having the two different sets of wheels, which seemed unusual, but after looking the car over started to make sense.

Thanks for posting it...

VERY cool. Takes you back to when everything wasn't decided by stroking your beard and some real talent was put into practice. Thanks for the photos.

Thanks for posting the pics. That's a poster child for 60's customization; it's cool to see cars like this survive. I prefer George Barris' original paint scheme.

I finally know why this emoji exists, and I grew up in that era.

I'm pretty sure you're correct. That's not a '63 you would forget even if you tried.

When it was at Carlisle the hood was left open so you could view the engine compartment.

At some point my vette was a victim of the sixties although the body was unmolested but under the faded gold paint when I bought it was a metalflake turquoise!

Love the metal flake paint.

Here's a photo of my car after the car sat out in the sun for 7 years. The silver top was simply the metal flake. The paint was all gone . I could wipe my hand over the top and it would come out silver.
