Editing and deleting this article because the information is apparently not correct and I don't want someone who searches by key words or just skims this thread to get incorrect information.

Cast iron case with aluminum tailhousing used until mid 1961 Corvette production.

100% incorrect. ALL 1957 -1960 Corvettes with RPO 685 (T-10 4 speed) had a cast iron main case.

I just copied and pasted it from a BW information article and thought I'd share it just in "case".

I would consider #2743 out of 10,261 an early car. Mine is #3714. 59-60 4 speed shifters had the reverse lock-out.

Copied from article about T10 usage in by all manufacturers.
Completely wrong. This post clearly shows the problem of regurgitating internet information when you don't know the answer yourself.

This post shows what happens when you don't read the previous posts before you criticize someone trying to help. It's already been posted that the article was apparently incorrect. Some people just can't wait to say "completely wrong". I have a 60 and I saved that article about the T10 transmissions and shared for discussion to help get correct answers. I answer a lot of questions on the forum, mostly electrical or function. Sorry if one was incorrect. Rude posting something that has already been discussed is unnecessary.

You've helped dozens of people with complex C1/C2 electrical gremlins with aplomb and expertise -- you have nothing to apologize for...there is not a single person on here that hasn't gotten something wrong now and again... Don't let snarky posts dissuade you from the help you've been providing...
