I'm installing the steeroids power steering kit on my 57 corvette and the directions call for moving the generator from the drivers side to the passenger side because the new steering pump is in the way. I have seen some generators are on the passenger side . Did it come from the factory on some years on the passenger side ? I have stock manifolds but the flange built into the passenger side manifold has a different bolt pattern than the generator bracket so it would not be a direct bolt up to the manifold . Is there a aftermarket bracket or a stock passenger side bracket available ? Or do I need a stock right side manifold from a different year C1 ?
My 61 had a passenger side mount. I'll look tomorrow and see if I have the brackets. I do have the generator. I'm not sure how different it would be from the 57.

Hi Robert , I do have the stock bracket that bolts directly to the generator that lets it swivel but the holes are a different width than the holes on the manifold flange on the passenger side . So it looks like it takes an adapter plate of some kind .
For 55-57 the generator was on the left side.
The generator moved to the right side on ALL 58-62 cars. SOOOOOOOOOO, simply set it up as it was done on 58-62 cars. Too easy!
Of course, this will also change the location of the voltage regulator and associated wiring.
If you slot the lower holes that bolt to the manifold, you can easily align the gen pulley to the water pump pulley. Also be mindful that clearance under the hood is pretty tight so you want to keep it as low as possible.

After seeing the picture that you posted it gives me something to go by . I made many complicated brackets for street rods over my 40 years of auto restoration in my business . That one is simple .
