Default 1964 windshield code

Guys, looking at a '64 coupe owned by the same guy since 1973. Did my inspections on it yesterday and this windshield code has me stumped. All of the rest of the glass is original and owner states that since he has had it he has not replaced the windshield. The seals and trim certainly don't look disturbed, but there was at least one owner if not a second for a short period of time before he bought it. It is tinted and roughly half of the '64 received a tinted glass windshield. Can anyone decipher this one for me? Thanks.

Don't know who made that glass but it is not LOF Shaded Soft Ray Safety-Plate, and not original to that 64 Corvette.

I just googled it and Shat-R-Proof is (or was) an auto glass manufacturing company, like LOF and PPG. LOF was exclusively used in Corvettes in the 50s and 60s, and I think still is.

65hihp, thanks for your response. Yes, all of the other glass is LOF and I realize that this one is not. It is clearly not original to the car. I was hoping someone could interpret the other numbers and letters to determine a rough date of manufacture. The guy I am buying it from didn't replace it and he has owned it since '73, so just trying to gauge when it was installed....if you get my drift. All of the other glass is original. BTW- the coupe I am buying was originally purchased in Charlottesville, VA and remains in VA....soon to be on it's way to North Carolina.

Hope to make your acquaintance sometime, perhaps at Greenville SC at NCRS Regional coming up, or same place for next years National meet. I am a huge 64 fan.
I think this windshield predates 1968 since I believe that is when you would see a DOT mark in the logo.
What was the name of that Chevy store in CVille?
Do you know the build date on your new 64? or vin? Mine is 09721, Jan 24.

Take a good look at the tint line and see how close it is to a original LOF tinted windshield. Being it is so old I an curious how close it is, new tinted glass has a clear tint line where as the original sweeps down on the sides.

I will be there on Friday through Saturday afternoon. I have a vendor booth, so don't plan to do any of the planned activities.
Dominick Chevrolet was the delivering dealer. VIN is 195xx with a build date of June 11, 1964.
I am really a C1 guy (have had two 65's) but wanted something I could just drive and enjoy. Done with the trailer queens and judged cars. I still enjoy judging, just not my own cars. I will need lots of help learning these '64's so hope you don't mind if I reach out now and then. Thanks. Garry Barnes NCRS #18531
