thanks Frankie! Since I bought a 69 to race I'm driving the 63 less and less so I'm contemplating putting a street 383 in it and taking it on local street drives. So this is the begining maybe?
There are quite a few things missing from that article. There is no reference to the clips that slide into the side mouldings and looking at the pictures it seems there was no clip located near the overlap where the side and horizontal reveal mouldings cover each other.
The clips used don't look anything like the clips that are on my 63 so maybe they are reproduction parts. The article also stated the six thick base clips are used on the lower windshield moulding and that is not exactly correct, four thick clips (two each side) are used on the lower thick pinchwelt sections and two up top ( one each side) on the same thick metal sections.
That being said it's hard to find parts that are not available but important to know how it was manufactured. The one thing that I believed changed during assembly is the number of clips used top and bottom.
I agree it looks just fine but i just wanted to try and explain how the clips were designed to be installed.
Take a look at your AIM, so much misleading info out there about the 63 MY. Once again though, you can't make it right if the correct parts are not available.
Has anyone ever asked Tom Keen or Brian from C S of Md west if they have any plans for making them? They both have a good track record on making moldings that fit.
Mark
Keen made 300 sets of 63 swc rear moldings. Its going to take along time to get their investment back. I've heard Keen has thought about making a set of windshield moldings, but again, a big investment and a relatively small demand at this time. Unless they can drive the market for many to convert their later model coupes to look like swc.
I got my car from storage today and first thing was to try the new upper trim piece. The top fit great but any thoughts on the bottom? The A pillar piece lines up perfectly with the original holes to mount it but I do not have a bottom piece of trim yet. Looks like the lower channel has been glassed to small for the lower trim to sit flush??

Can you post a picture of your driver side door trim at the top with the door completely shut. It appears as though your side trim is too low. The factory had that trim piece about a quarter of an inch higher at the top on the windshield side. Not matching the stainless on the door.

It is actually high but the door lines up pretty well to the top of the car...it's an old car is my take but could use some adjustment. Until I get the lower trim for the windshield I guess I will not know if the lower channel is wrong. On my list. Thanks!
