The ends of the window sweeps insert into the bottom of the door post channel bead. The window sweep is the "male" and the door post channel is the "female".

It is important to install the new sweeps correctly or your window will not roll up and down smoothly. Instead of rewriting what I did, there is an excellent write up done by Rich5962. Look at this link:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...lattening.html

Go to post #8 and open the pdf file. The window fuzzy installation starts on page 11.

Again, it is critical to get the fuzzies right for your window to work smoothly.

Good luck,

Terry

corvette central or keen. You want to buy repo correct ones. Or a nice set of NOS ones. Either way stay away from the ones which were not correct. The non-correct ones do not have a nice curve to them.

Just a reminder that the rear channel felt supplied in the kits in recent years is too thick and will not allow the window to go down in the channel easily. Many have just gone to the fabric store and purchased similar, but thinner, material to use.

This is true! I have not replaced mine yet. It makes it tough to get the windows to roll down.

a corollary to the adage "it will buff out"; 'it will wear in'....

When you get felt that is too thick, just take a hammer to it and it will flatten enough to get the necessary clearance.....

I used the term "felt" somewhat generically. I could see felt possibly being flattened, but I do know that the material I bought from one of the major suppliers was a very thick heavy cloth that would not flatten out whatsoever.

Again, the reminder was just a heads up for those guys that may not have run across the old threads addressing this problem.

Get the thinner felt from JoAnne Fabrics; make sure you leave 1" over the top of the rear channel so you can glue it down the outside on three sides - this prevents "roll up" later on...
