I believe Quanta paint is made by Seymour Paint Company. Seymour is my recommendation.........so the Quanta paint should be fine. But you can ask them to verify if you desire.

Duplicolor is also very nice, but the orange shade is a bit "off" for me. But I have used it before on my car.

Remember Chevy had a few suppliers for the Chevy engine orange paint. Each batch and supplier wasn’t going to be the same

Thanks for all of your recommendations. As mentioned previously, I have a '64 survivor that I had to replace the water pump. The engine block has a lot of the original orange...under all of the grease and grime, so I am going to attempt to "age" the water pump so that it doesn't look too out of place. The guys I got the water pump from shipped it to me with cast blast instead of paint at my request, so if the shade of the orange is a tad bit off, there won't be that much on there anyway. I have what I believe to be the original water pump that I opted not to rebuild (more expensive than getting an original already rebuilt) to use as my template for where the paint remains and where the rust bloom begins. I went with the Duplicolor 1620. Thanks again for all of the suggestions.

Old post revived. Has anyone used Aervoe 520 Chevy orange. This is what my machinist used on my block and heads. It has a little deeper red and less bright orange. I have used Duplicolor 1620 but always felt it had too much orange. The pictures ( intake Dupl.1620 paint TC Aervoe 520) may not give you the true color (also smooth steel vs. cast iron) but if you want to try a different paint Aervoe may be what you can try.
