My fuel gauge is being repaired and I've already got LED cluster replacement bulbs in hand. When the gauge gets back I'll be installing the LEDs.

On a 63, yes you can scoot the cluster forward enough on the extension studs with the oil line attached to get at the small gauges or cluster light bulbs - on other years, I can't say.

The rods in picture , #4 are common "all-thread" 1/4" x 20 from Ace Hardware with double nuts on the end tightened against one another to make a "head" on the rods. About 15 minutes work and you'll have them forever.

You don't really need 5, 3 will even work, 4 is better...

Yes, four is enough. Mine kept wanting to slide forward so I added nuts to two bolts on the inside.
