ok fellas...started the car for the first time this year since putting her away for the winter and came upon a few issues. First the center carb is pouring gas out of the front by the accelerator pump and second as the gas pooled onto the manifold I noticed bubbles bubbling up from between the block and the manifold. Was thinking these might be problems that fix themselves once the car runs for a bit and the juices get flowing or....NOT???....thoughts? The weather is going to suck here in Chicago for the next couple days I’ll try and get the car back out and start it up again and see what happens. Thanks. Jim
Assume they are Holleys. Stuck float needle on the center carb. Tap it with a plastic hammer or plastic handle of a screw driver. If that doesn't do the trick, you may have to remove the needle and seat and flush them with carb cleaner or replace the assembly.
The bubbles may just be the boiling of the fuel, not air escaping from the intake joint. Fix the needle / seat leakage problem and then troubleshoot the manifold gasket with a light oil or something that won't boil.

Leaking Holley
Typical problem after winter storage. If your Holley has bolts with screw heads holding the float bowl on, get a 90 degree offset screwdriver and slightly snug up the screws. If the bolts have hex heads, tighten them slightly with a wrench. If that does not stop the leak, then, with an offset phillips screwdriver, tighten the 4 screws that hold the accelerator pump housing onto the float bowl. With a little patience, this can be accomplished without removing the carb from the manifold. I have found that this works 90% of the time---If it doesn't, you're in for a rebuild.
I recently started mine, with a Holley 4 BBL, after sitting almost a year. Gas appeared to be coming from the accelerator pump. But, after closer inspection during clean up it was leaking from a bowl screw. Snugged up the screws, has nylon screw seals, leak stopped.
Be very careful tightening the bowl screws because they will strip in the cheap Holley castings, (not to much). I have found the needle will dry out and let fuel pass until it gets wet with gas and begins to swell up.
Happened to me many years ago also on the middle carb and the cause was a faulty float. It developed a leak, filled with fuel and sank causing the the needle valve to not shut off the incoming fuel.
