Default window adjustment 1960

I have read a lot of the threads on adjusting door glass on my 1960 however I still can't get mine right. my upper and lower adjustment screws on c channel are slotted slightly but no matter were I put them the back of glass is always about 1/2 inch higher in the back than the front. when the glass is rolled up it is even across about a 1 inch from top. then you finish rolling it up the back raises more than the front and there is a 1/2 inch gap at the front. does anyone know what I am doing wrong Thanks,Mike

do you have the stops, for when the window is all the way up, installed and adjusted? there are 2, this is the rearward one

You have something severely mis-adjusted. The later C1 glass should have the front of the glass leading the rear as it rolls up... These are my power windows but you get the idea:

You may have these stops out of whack as suggested above - there are two of them..the silver plates along the top of the door's horizontal ledge...

thanks for posting a pic of the door with the panel off, i know it's not quite the same as a 62, but it is representative of C1s.

When adjusted right do those stops keep window from rolling up to far ( is that the reason for them )

The window stops are one of the worst design features of the later C1s... Adjust them too loosely and the window can roll up too far and get jammed against the garnishes; too tightly and the window will bind rolling up....and of course you can only get to them by removing stuff. Its a good idea to take some contact cement and glue the little dime-sized rubber stop cushions onto those two posts. The stops are just supposed to touch the glass frame without touching the glass.

Lots of trial and error and oceans of patience required... If you watch the video above you'll sort of see that near the top of the window closing, the stops actually cause the window to cant forward just before closing for proper alignment...
