Ignition key problem HELP
I was hoping getting a key made off the core code # would work but to no avail it didn’t.
The strange thing is . If I hold the rectangle tab on the side of the core the key will not
Come out of the core .. So I’m not even sure the new core is the problem..
Thats what I’m working to figure out what’s making my ignition switch fail and not retain the key as designed .
If I need the ignition housing I’m pretty well screwed as they don’t make a good replacement. No location to insert the light bulb and the 3 locking clips don’t line up
From what I’ve read so I’m hoping the new core will be the fix..
The NOS are very pricey if you can find one..

If I were looking for a 66 only cylinder, I would search ebay for one for a passenger car. If you search for Corvette, the price would be high. (it's the same part for both)
The switch may be the same as passenger car too but I'll have to look it up to make sure.
Edit:
Both the switch and cyl are the very same as 1966 passenger cars. Here are the numbers;
1116673, Switch, Ignition
7031272, Cyl, Ign lock
Both parts are unique to the 66 model year.
